Abstract

Lubricity is the ability of a substance to prevent wear in a system where metal surfaces are in close contact. Diesel fuel injection systems rely on the fuel itself for lubrication. GCXGC/ TOFMS and multivariate statistics were used to investigate which chemical classes in a diesel fuel contribute to its lubricity.
