Women in engineering - an opportunity

Abstract

In view of the under-representation of women in the field of engineering and the legislation concerning the employment and education of previously disadvantaged groups, an investigation was conducted to determine which factors are likely to promote an interest in engineering amongst women. Current statistics provided by the University of Pretoria are analysed.
