A drill-and-tutorial program which can generate a large variety of asymmetric structures, has been developed with the aim of affording students practice in determining configuration. The computer program takes students stepwise through a number of problems and provides an analysis of the students’ errors. Students’ comments on the program were obtained and will be used to improve the program with new technology becoming available.
