In contrast with numerous references in world literature linking soft drinking water with an increased prevalence of hypertension, degenerative vascular diseases and cardiovascular disease, research done by the Hans Snyckers Institute at Tshikundamalema in Venda would indicate the opposite. The drinking water in this remote area is extremely soft but the traditional living people of the area appear to be free of these diseases.
