A pot experiment was conducted, using three soyabean (Giycinc max (L.) Merrill) cultivars (Forrest, Prima and A5409) inoculated at planting, with no (0) and two Bradyrhizobium japonicum strains (WB1 and WB74). The objectives were to investigate the effect of cultivar-rhizobial strain combinations on biomass and N derived from the atmosphere (Ndfa) and to compare the atmospheric N uptake determined by the isolope technique, with the conventional method.
